Pi (π) is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. It is a mathematical constant that has an infinite number of digits that never repeat. Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 every year all over the world as a way for math enthusiasts to attempt to recite all the digits of pi, and of course to eat pie.
At NMSHS Pi Day is celebrated with fun activities such as a digits of pi competition, a pi trivia competition, and a pie walk. The student who memorized the most digits of pi got to hit Ms. Politi in the face with a whipped cream pie! Details will be posted as the big day approaches!
Fun fact: Albert Einstein's birthday is also March 14!
